Some Rug Doctor solutions are pre-treatments only and are not intended for use in the machine. However, no harm will come to your carpets if you do mix them with Rug Doctor carpet detergent.
Our products can be used in a Vax, Bissell, Hoover or any leading brand of carpet washer.
Make sure to read your machine’s user guide before using Rug Doctor detergents. Also, read the label on the detergent to check suitability. Always comply with the quantity requirements provided by the manufacturer.
Our detergents have been specially formulated for use with a Rug Doctor and provide the best results. As part of our terms and conditions, we don’t permit the use of other branded products in the machines.
We cannot be held responsible for damage caused by unauthorised products.
All our solutions are water-based and non-toxic. However, we always recommend that small children and pets are kept away from the area being cleaned until it has completely dried.
Our carpet detergent with Spotblok® is available in three sizes, while our other domestic detergents are available in 1-litre bottles. Here’s how many rooms you can clean by bottle size:
- A 1-litre bottle will clean up to approximately 2 rooms (38 sq.m)
- A 2-litre bottle will clean up to approximately 4 rooms (75 sq.m)
- A 4-litre bottle will clean up to approximately 8 rooms (150 sq.m)
Your choice in Rug Doctor detergent depends on what you’re cleaning and the cleaning problem. If you’re cleaning fabrics or upholstery, use our Oxy Power Fabric Cleaner. If you’re cleaning carpets or rugs, choose from Rug Doctor Carpet Detergent with Spotblok® or Pet Formula Carpet Detergent for homes with pets.
Not all of our cleaning solutions can be used in the machine. Rug Doctor carpet detergent, Oxy Power Fabric Cleaner and Odour Remover can be used in the machine when mixed with warm water in the lower tank.
Our detergents are available to purchase in all outlets that stock Rug Doctor machines. Find your nearest outlet by using our Store Finder. Alternatively, you can purchase any of our products here.
